First nurse vaccinated in NY gets second dose

New York critical care nurse Sandra Lindsay has received the second dose of coronavirus vaccine, making her the first healthcare professional in the country to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Lindsay got the second dose Monday at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens. Lindsay volunteered to get the shot and has said multiple times that it was important for her to lead by example.

Nurse, First American to Receive Covid Vaccine, Sandra Lindsay said "So, I just want to tell people that if you're not informed, get informed. Speak to experts, speak to healthcare professionals. Don't listen to hearsay and let us all do our parts as our civil responsibility in a crisis to just band together and get through this."

Following the second dose, she said she was grateful and encouraged people to get informed.
