Michigan Governor reports significant progress in fighting virus-related racial disparities that plagued the state in the early days of the pandemic. The Democratic governor and the Michigan COVID-19 Task Force on Racial Disparities on Thursday released an interim report on the topic.

The task force, which the Michigan Governor formed, is chaired by Lieutenant Governor. The Lieutenant Governor says he has lost 24 people in his life to the virus. He lives in Detroit, which was an early hot spot nationally along with surrounding suburban areas. The Michigan COVID-19 Task Force on Racial Disparities is made up of leaders from government, academia and the private sector.
