
French Prime Minister Jean Castex decided to extend COVID-19 safety measures until October 30. The safety measures included the obligation to wear masks outside and a ban on gatherings of more than 5,000 people, with the possibility for prefects to waive those subject to verification of strict compliance with health protocols. He also urged the French to react collectively in the face of a high risk of epidemic recurrence.
