Dengue Fever Prevention: Preventive Measures Carried Out In North Okkalapa Township

Preventive measures against dengue fever were carried out in North Okkalapa Township of Yangon Region. The measures included public awareness raising on dengue fever and abate adding, according to the Information and Public Relations Department.

Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection. Severe dengue is a leading cause of serious illness and death in some Asian and Latin American countries.

The global incidence of dengue has grown dramatically in recent decades. About half of the world's population is now at risk. There are an estimated 100-400 million infections each year, WHO reports.
