US COVID-19 cases surpass 2.6 million

According to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University on Tuesday, the number of COVID-19 cases in the United States reached 2.6 million and the number of fatalities also reached 126,360. Topping the country is the State of New York, with 393,302 cases and 31,403 deaths.

Other states with over 100,000 cases include California, New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Illinois and Massachusetts. Many states, especially those in the U.S. South and West, have reported increases in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.
