Cash Assistance: Mandalay Region Govt. Provides Assistance To Artists And Artistes

Mandalay Region Government provided 15,000 kyats each to 7,580 writers, painters, cartoonists, artistes and Myanmar orchestra players in the region for assistance during COVID-19 period.

The Regional Government also provided assistance to the grass root people who were facing difficulties in food depending on their requirements during the COVID-19 period and this time, they provide assistance to the artists and artistes in the region through door-to-door service. 

Author, Than Naing Oo said “This program is arranged by Mandalay Region Government and we collected the population list for authors. Although the lists are collected as much as possible, it may be left. The regional government provides 15,000 kyat each to the artists and artistes.”

The artists and performers have suspended their art works amidst COVID-19 pandemic and the assistance is beneficial for them on the other hand, one of the authors said.

Author, Thint Naw said “We appreciate the assistance of Regional Government at the necessary fields. They prioritize to give assistance to needy people, odd-job workers and grass root people. They also consider to providing assistance to the artists. This is great satisfaction for those who receive the assistance.”

Author, Suu Ngat said “The job operations have been suspended during COVID period and all emphasize on the health. This time, the financial assistance is needed. Led by Mandalay Region Government, cash assistance is provided to the artists in the region. We are very grateful for the assistance.”

The Region Government provided 15,000 kyats each to 752 writers, 63 cartoonists, 372 painters, 5,530 artistes and 8,63 Myanmar orchestra players, totaling over 110 million kyats.
