Power Supply: Electricity From Mongpyat Sub-Power Station To Be Supplied To Keng Tung

Through the National Grid, the electricity from Mongpyat sub-power Station will be supplied to Keng Tung township of Eastern Shan State soon.

The test-run of power distribution from Mongpyat to Keng Tung was successful on the 19th June and plans are underway to access the electricity in the township.

Project Director, Department of Power Transmission and System Control (NPT), Soe Moe Naing said “Firstly, 230/66/11 KV 100 MVA transformer will be test-run about 24-hour and then, 66/11 KV 5 MVA transformer will be operated about 48-hour as testing. After that, we will conduct electricity supply process.” 

The officials inspected the current situation of construction and work functions and the safety of power distribution in the township. Transformers and meter boxes will also be inspected to supply electricity safely, according to the Information and Public Relations Department.
