
The honourary certificates, badges, face masks and hand sanitizers were presented to the volunteers and civil service organizations that are participating in COVID-19 prevention works at the quarantine centers in Kayin State and Myawady border.
Pregnant women, children under age five and the elders who are staying under quarantine were also provided cash assistance.
The ceremony was held at Hpa-An University on Thursday and Union Minister for Social Welfare Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye, in his capacity as Secretary of the National Volunteers Steering Unit presented honourary certificates for the volunteers and CSOs through Kayin State Chief Minister Daw Nang Khine Htwe Myint.
He also presented badges, face masks and hand sanitizers to the representatives of volunteers.
The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement also provided 30,000 kyats each for 297 pregnant women, 174 children under age five and 18 elder persons aged 60 and above.
The honourary certificates presented by the National Volunteers Steering Committee will be presented to 241 volunteers and 23 CSOs in Hpa-An and Myawady Districts of Kayin State through officials of Kayin State Government, the General Administrative Department and the relevant township volunteering supporting committees.
