At first, the electricity could be distributed in MongPyin Township, and will soon be distributed to Keng Tung. We made the occasion to explain the application process for the meter box, the amount of electricity bill and so on when distributing the electricity."
He added that plans are underway to access electricity in the villages as well.
Chief Engineer (Electronic), Shan State (East), Thet Paing Myo said "We also constructed the power lines in the villages with the use of Shan State’s budget allotment. We are implementing for electricity users in the villages to share the bill by installing the main meter transformer, while meter boxes can’t be installed in some villages."
At present, electricity is distributing from Keng Tung power plant around the area, and the department plans to reinstall the meter boxes once the distribution from the national grid commenced.
Chief Engineer (Electronic), Shan State (East), Thet Paing Myo said "Normally, electricity is distributed from Keng Tung power plant. So, we will substitute meter boxes installed from Keng Tung power plant with the ones from our department. When such installing, Keng Tung power plant has to give back installation charges to our department if it has been collected in advance. If not, the users have to give the installation charges for the new one."
