

24 hours electricity service will be available at Chaung Tha and Shwe Thaung Yan Towns in Ayeyawady Region starting the end of July this year.
As the government has been undertaking construction works to provide electricity to Chaung Thar and Shwe Thaung Yan with the budget of 2018-2019 fiscal year, the 24 hours electricity service will be provided coming July.
Township Electrical Engineer, Chaung Thar, Myo Kyaw said “The construction process to provide electricity has been completed and Ngwe Saung- Chaung Thar electric cable line construction has finished about 90%. Now, we are planning to provide electricity to Chaung Thar and Shwe Thaung Yan in coming July.”
The electricity was available only part-time rotation in the townships before and now, Chaung Thar and Shwe Thauing Yan are the first townships to access electricity from Ngwe Saung Sub-power station.
Ward Administrator, Shwe Thaung Yan, Ye Kyaw Thu said “The local people also cooperate for the electricity access in the township. Our residents faced some difficulties relating to education, health, living and business as well because the electricity could not be provided enough before. As the electricity will be available soon, we are very happy and I think, it will create more job opportunities for locals.”
Resident, Shwe Thaung Yan, Thant Zin Oo said “We need the 24 hours electricity as fast as possible. As our business is operating with an own generator, we face problems to resume our operation when the generator fails. Thus, we are very welcome to get electricity in our township.”
Hotels and tourism business are currently working in Chaung Thar and Shwe Thaug Yan Towns and business owners are expecting to boost their tasks, according to the Information and Public Relations Department.
