George Floyd's casket arrives for funeral

Early on Tuesday morning, the casket of George Floyd arrived at the Fountain of Praise Church in Houston for his funeral, two weeks after his death on a Minneapolis street while being held by police. Somber relatives and friends walked behind the casket as media looked on, after his death triggered international protests against police aggression, racism and systematic mistreatment of black people.

On Monday, thousands of mourners paid their respects, filing past his open coffin at the church in Houston, Texas, where Floyd grew up. The funeral will be a private ceremony and he will buried next to his mother's grave.
