Bank Erosion: 28 Houses From 3 Village-Tracts Have Been Moved To Safer Places

28 houses from 3 village-tracts have been moved to safer places due to the bank erosion of Ayeyawady River at Yay Nan Chaung Township, Magway Region starting from the third week of April to till now, according to the township General Administrative Department.

The bank erosion has started on 19th April and the houses that are about 50-ft and 100-ft from the eroded places have been moved through the cooperation of the concerned officials, village in-charge and the locals, the township administrator said. 

Due to the bank erosion, 7 houses from Meinma Hla Kyun village, 3 houses from Ywa Tha Kone village, 14 houses from Kantha village and 4 houses from Lan Kuu village, altogether 28 have been moved to safer places.

100,000 kyats for housing materials have been provided per house and cash were provided for the rice per week.
