
Argentine President Alberto Fernandez announced on Thursday that the extension of the national lockdown aimed to reduce the spread of new coronavirus until June 28th. Officials also said that measures could be tightened or reduced depending on the state of the pandemic in Argentina in the due date.
The capital Buenos Aires will also allow small, neighborhood businesses to reopen under distancing measures and put in place a schedule for exercising during nighttime between 8 pm to 8 am.
The restriction of foreigners entering the country, transit between states, tourism, shows, or gatherings will remain prohibited. According to Johns Hopkins University on Thursday, Argentina reported more than 19,000 COVID-19 cases and 608 deaths.
