U.S. COVID-19 cases surpass 1.87 million

The number of COVID-19 cases in the United States topped 1.87 million on Thursday, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

On Thursday, the national death toll of COVID-19 rose to 108,120, according to the CSSE. Hardest-hit New York State reported a total of 30,090 deaths, the CSSE data showed. The United States continued to be the country with the most confirmed cases and deaths caused by COVID-19 in the world, followed by Brazil and Russia.
