


Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Myint Maung and officials on 2nd June inspected construction progress of ThaMoat Lut Lut Bridge in Myeik Township.
The officials from Construction Group (4) of Bridge Department reported on the progress of construction works.
The Chief Minister instructed to complete the works in the target time, meeting the set standard.
Director (Civil), Bridge Department (Construction-4), Kyaw Myo Tun said “ThaMoat LutLut Bridge is 1287 ft long and 24 ft wide with 3 ft wide pedestrian lanes on each side. It is of RC concrete type. The area of water clearance is 164 ft wide and 15 ft high.”
The bridge is part of the National Highway, and upon completion, it will provide convenient transportation for the residents with less travel time.
Director (Civil), Bridge Department (Construction-4), Kyaw Myo Tun said “At present, the vehicles have to use the detour road which takes about 25 miles. After completion the bridge, it will reduce about 11 miles of journey, and it will take only about 14 miles. The travel time will also reduce about 45 minutes since the detour road has many hilly areas and turnings.”
The bridge was built by spending 11.8 billion kyats of the budget. 94% of construction works has completed so far and it is targeted to complete within July.
