Roads in Yangon are empty as the Regional Government requested the public to stay home for 10 days from 10th to 19th April during Myanmar New Year festival period as a measure to avoid spreading of Coronavirus COVID-19 disease.

The normally gridlocked roads in central downtown including Sule Pagoda Road, Strand Road, Pansodan Road and Anawrahta Street have seen only some vehicles, cycle trishaw, delivery cyclist and a few passersby.

As of 10th April, Myanmar has 27 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 3 deaths. Two persons have recovered as they tested negative in their following lab tests.
