Food-Stuff Delivery: We Love Yangon Conducts Door-To-Door Sales

As a part of preventive measures against COVID-19, We love Yangon, a community-based charity organization, conducts door-to-door delivery sales of basis food-stuffs to people in the townships of Yangon Region.

The program aimed not to be lack of the food-stuffs for the people and to prevent soaring good and commodity prices during the outbreak of coronavirus disease.

General Secretary, We Love Yangon, Zaw Win Khine said “Our price is 30 percent cheaper than that in outside. At the market, the price of 10 eggs is 1,400 kyats and we sell 10 eggs for 1000 kyats. We also sell the rice with price down. Our program is aimed to share food-stuffs to the people at the grass-root level. We started this program across Yangon since the last three or four days.”

Management & Information System, We Love Yangon, Khun San said “After receiving orders, we are delivering the food to the customers within three days as much as possible. We’d like to request the customers if they face any problems, understand us because we have to do with volunteers.”

If other organizations in the respective townships in Yangon want to deliver and share the food with the set price of We Love Yangon, they can cooperate in this program. 

Volunteer, We Love North Dagon, Than Naing Htay said “We have ordered in advance the numbers of items for delivery.  After getting permission, we have to take the food items and deliver them at the respective homes.”

One of the customers said the door-to-door delivery sale is convenient for us at the time when the COVID-19 threats to people. 

Customer, Wah Wah Win Housing, Yankin Township, Kyaw Zin said “We have difficulties to go outside for buying food. We are afraid of the risk of the disease. We cost the food package just for 16,000 kyats. It is very convenient for us because it is door-to-door delivery.”

We Love Myanmar has sub-groups in every township of Yangon. They set 4 places at the 4 districts to deliver the foods. From these places, the foods are distributed to other townships.
