
The Ministry of Health and Sports issued updated information about COVID-19 surveillance at 8:00 pm, Wednesday. According to the news release of the Ministry, there were 36 new persons under investigation between 6 pm on 31st March and 6 pm on 1st April.
According to the laboratory results of the National Health Laboratory (Yangon) on specimens from a total of 56 persons under investigation and quarantined persons at 7:30 pm 1st April has shown one positive case of Covid-19 and the remaining 55 persons were tested negative.
The confirmed Case 16 patient is a 63-year-old woman living in Yay Kyi Township, Ayeyawady Region. On 15th March, she welcomed her son returning from Dubai at Yangon International Airport and temporary stayed together with her son in North Oakkalapa Township. She felt fatigue about two weeks while staying. On 30th March, she suffered more fatigue and got high temperature.
So, she received medical treatment in North Oakkalapa People’s Hospital on 31st March. She has been kept under surveillance in the Hospital and her specimens were taken for laboratory test.
She will be admitted to the Waibargi Specialist hospital and the special care treatment is being conducted to her as she is also suffering diabetes.
Out of 15 Covid-19 positive cases, 1 is at Tiddim hospital in Chin State, 10 at Waibargi hospital in Yangon, 1 at Kandawnadi hospital in Mandalay, 1 at Nay Pyi Taw People’s Hospital and 1 at Lashio People’s Hospital in the northern Shan State and they are in good health.
One positive patient at the Waibargi hospital is giving medical treatment in isolation at the intensive care unit.
As Myanmar has confirmed more Covid-19 positive cases, persons in close contacts with these patients are identified and restricted on their travels. People are advised to strictly follow the awareness of the Ministry of Health and Sports.
