
The Ministry of Health and Sports issued a news release on the COVID-19 monitoring at 8:00 pm on Tuesday. It stated that there were 44 new patients under surveillance from 6:00 pm of 30th March and 6:00 pm of 31st March.
According to the Laboratory results of the National Health Laboratory (Yangon) at 7:30 pm Tuesday, specimens from a total of 67 persons under investigation and quarantined persons has shown a positive case of Covid-19 and the remaining 66 persons were tested negative.
The positive case patient (Case-15) is a 45-year old woman of Myanmar citizen living in Bahan Township and working at a private clinic that is giving health service to foreigners in Yangon region. She suffered the symptoms such as fever, sore throat and coughing on 27th March and she went to the Public Health Department in Bahan Township to conduct medical test on 30th March.
She was admitted to the West Yangon General Hospital as a person under investigation and her specimen was sent to the laboratory. This patient has been arranged to transfer to Waibargi Specialist Hospital for medical treatments and currently, her health condition is well.
Out of 14 patients infected with coronavirus confirmed by the laboratory, one patient from Tiddim People’s Hospital in Chin State, 9 patients from Waibargi Specialist Hospital in Yangon, one patient at the Kantawnadi Hospital in Mandalay and one patient in Nay Pyi Taw People’s Hospital and one patient at the People’s Hospital in Lashio of the Northern Shan State, transferred from Kyaukme People’s Hospital have stable heath.
Out of two patients who are receiving medical treatments in isolation at the intensive care unit of Waibargi Specialist Hospital, one patient was dead in Tuesday morning.
As Myanmar has found more Covid-19 positive cases, persons in close contacts with these patients are identified and restricted on their travels. People are advised to strictly follow the awareness of the Ministry of Health and Sports.
