World's oldest man and UK's oldest woman celebrate turning 112

Born in 1908, the world's oldest living man and UK's oldest woman share a birthday of March 29, and both turned 112 on Sunday. Bob Weighton and Joan Hocquard have lived through wars and a lot of change over the course of their lives and are now also experiencing the coronavirus outbreak.

Hocquard who has lived in London and Africa now lives in Poole, Dorset, southwest England. She did celebrate with her partner, 92 year-old Ken and even had a party. The joint oldest people in the UK have never met, but for both staying in touch with friends and family is important with Weighton saying what interests him the most is meeting new people. Reflecting on his life Weighton said he was a very shy child, but over the years learnt how to deal with all lives challenges.
