COVID-19 Awareness: Preventive Measures Conducted In Mon, Sagaing, Pyay & Rakhine

As the COVID-19 surveillance, temperature screening has being conducted at the Kyaik Maraw roundabout in Mawlamyaing of Mon State as of 21st March.

The activity aims to conduct medical surveillance to Myanmar migrant works returning from border exits. Officials from the Health Department, the General Administrative Department, Police Force, Traffic Police Force, social organizations in Mawlamyaing, civil society organizations concerning health and charity organizations in Mon State are being conducted the activities.

If the suspected patients are found in Mon State, it has is arranged for special ambulance and Personal protective equipment (PPE) are ready to conduct the tasks.

Likewise, the COVID-19 preventive measures have been conducted at Myoma market in Butalin township of Sagaing Region, according to the Township Development Committee. The Chairman of the Township Development Committee and officials conducted awareness program on washing hands, delivery of pamphlets and hanging vinyl posters in cooperation with the township management committee and the township health department as the preventive measures.

Moreover, as the response measures against coronavirus disease, awareness programs have been conducted in Pyay on the same day.

Officials demonstrated awareness campaigns such as distribution of pamphlets, systematic washing hands and wearing masks at the Myothit and Koe Thaung markets and highway bus terminal in Pyay.

Likewise, distribution of pamphlets has been conducted at the crowed places in Maungdaw of Rakhine State. The medical staffs from the township hospital gave educative talks on prevention of coronavirus disease.
