e-Commerce Sector: e-Commerce Association Of Myanmar (ECAM) Officially Launched

The official launching event of E-commerce Association of Myanmar (ECAM) was held on Tuesday in Yangon.

Director of the Ministry of Commerce U Nyi Nyi Aung delivered the opening speech and the chairman of ECAM explained their association’s activities and plans in detail.

Chairman, E-commerce Association of Myanmar (ECAM), Aye Chan said “Our association is 9 months old now – we’ve been cooperating with the UN and giving training in collaboration with USH. We will expand working on the Governmental discussions, public relations and E-commerce rules and regulations. We also organize workshops and conduct awareness raising programmes on fake selling on social media. When each person and producer gets increased income, the government’s revenue will increase, then, our association will develop.”

E-commerce Association of Myanmar was established in March, 2019 and gained an official permission from DICA in July. The objective of the association is to represent the private sector E-commerce and for its development. ECAM takes care of online selling and digital supporting industries such as online payment, online education and last mile logistics.

Secretary, E-commerce Association of Myanmar (ECAM), Zaw Min Aung said “We work to help the businesses run systematically with long-term. Some consumers lose trust on online selling due to the fake products and poor quality. We verify those problems with cooperation among each other. We will share the knowledge of E-commerce with those who don’t know much about it.”

The E-commerce Association of Myanmar (ECAM) is designed to develop a safe e-commerce and to be a bridge between the online business and consumers.
