'Silence the guns' theme for African Union summit

African leaders met for the inaugural session of the African Union summit in Addis Ababa on Sunday to discuss challenges facing the continent. The 33rd Summit of the African Union has the theme of "Silencing the Guns". In his address, African Union Commission chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat called upon the United States to remove Sudan from its list of state sponsors of terrorism. UN chief Antonio Guterres and Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit also addressed the session.
