Iraq and EU discuss investment, trade cooperation

Iraq’s Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi received the European Union Ambassador to Iraq, Ville Varjola. The meeting addressed several issues, including the signing of a joint agreement between Iraq and the European Union in the field of investment, aimed at attracting more European investment to Iraq.

The discussion also covered the participation of European companies in this year’s Baghdad International Fair. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of Iraq-EU relations, particularly in the economic sphere and various investment sectors, as well as cooperation in the banking sector and the enhancement of trade. For his part, the EU Ambassador congratulated Mr. Al-Zaidi on the completion of the cabinet formation.
