Marine archaeologists from the Vrak Museum of Wrecks are exploring a 15th-century medieval shipwreck known as Vrak 5, which is believed to be the oldest carvel-built ship ever discovered in the Nordic countries. It is believed to be the first ship known to be built with the smooth-planked "carvel" technique in Sweden or Denmark.

Divers using sediment suction equipment have also recovered kitchen bricks, rigging elements, and traces of onboard provisions. Researchers are investigating whether the vessel was burned and sunk during a 1501 Danish attack on Häringe Castle.
