To help students and youth develop their knowledge during the summer school holidays, make effective use of their free time, explore subjects of personal interest, and to nurture a new generation of youth proficient in maritime and aviation sciences for the benefit of the country, the Myanmar Navy has launched Basic and Advanced Maritime Youth Training Courses, and the Myanmar Air Force has launched Basic and Advanced Aviation Youth Training Courses. These training programs were officially opened simultaneously on April 22 at the designated training camps across various townships, and training is currently underway.

At the Mawlamying training camp, both Basic and Advanced Maritime Youth Training Courses and the Basic Aviation Youth Training Course have commenced. In the morning on May 7, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, Commander of South-East Command Major General Kyaw Linn Maung, members of state government, and senior military officers visited Shwe Nattaung ရွှေနတ်တောင် Reservoir in Mawlamying Township to observe training sessions at the camp. They witnessed practical maritime training, including rowing exercises using Western-style Tub Four boats and Optimoist boats.

Following this, the Chief Minister and Commander presented financial rewards in recognition of the Basic and Advanced Maritime Youth Training Courses.

They also met with the officers in charge and instructors at the training camp to discuss and coordinate any needs or requirements for the training.

Later, the Chief Minister, the Commander, and state government ministers visited the Shwe Nattaung Basic Education High School, where they observed the ongoing Basic Aviation Youth Training Course (Batch 1/2025) and its associated aviation-related subjects. The Chief Minister and the Commander also awarded financial incentives to the trainees.

After that, they interacted warmly with the trainees, offering words of encouragement. The Chief Minister also addressed and fulfilled some of the training program’s needs and requirements.
