








The Youth and Literary Arts Festival that was held at the MICC-II in Nay Pyi Taw came to an end on 29th December successfully.
The four-day festival, starting from 26th December was organized in commemorating the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Independence Day.
Minister, Natural Resources (Ayeyarwady Region Gov.), Ohn Myint said "We displayed Ayeyarwady's famous products-Pathein umbrella, Pathein Halawar, fried banana, yogurt and milk at our booth. Here, we sell them with fair prices. We show the making process of Pathein Umbrella from installation of raw skeletons to the step of making embroidery. Pathein umbrellas which are a symbol of Ayeyarwady region and famous handicraft. So, we want the young children to preserve that kind of business to sustain not to be extinct in the future."
Co-Pilot, Myanmar National Airlines, Bhone Set Paing said "When the students come to our booth, they can learn work procedures related to the airlines such as pilot, air traffic control works, and flight attendants. I hope that it will inspire them to become the good pilots and crews in the future."
The students who come to the Youth and Literary Arts Festival shared their experiences regarding with the festival.
Third year Student, Sagaing University of Education , Khin Pyae Phyo said "By organizing such a kind of festival, we have knowledge about the history of Myanmar Independence. Besides, there are various kinds of books displayed here, so we can learn a lot."
Grade-7 Student, No.2 B.E.H.S (Pyinmana Township), Aung Myo Kyaw said "I observe computers, information technology, and Petroleum and natural gas sections. We learn only theoretical at school but here we can learn both theoretically and practically. So, I think that is very helpful for my study."
At the festival, awareness programmes to reduce crimes, drugs, traffic rules, documents of the historic outstanding persons, knowledge about airlines, forest and plants cultivation, health awareness, photos of youth affairs activities and books stalls were displayed.
