Nine children get their heads shaved by Buddhist monks during a ceremony at the Jogyesa Temple in Seoul, South Korea.

The ritual makes its first comeback in four years since 2019 after Covid restrictions relaxed. After the ceremony, the young monks, aged five to six, will stay at the Jogyesa Temple for 21 days until the Buddha's birthday on May 27. They will learn about Buddhism from instructors in the hope of becoming future Buddhism ambassadors.
