South Korea presidential candidate for conservative People Power Party Yoon Suk Yeol kicked off his campaign Tuesday and vowed to restore democracy and common sense in the country. Yoon told hundreds of supporters at a rally he will strengthen national security and revive South Korea's economy.

Yoon's biggest rival and the governing party's candidate, Lee Jae-myung, also launched his campaign Tuesday in Busan at the stroke of midnight. During South Korea's presidential campaign period, the candidates are allowed to make speeches in open spaces with loud speakers and campaign vehicles.
