A shipment of coronavirus vaccines arrived at Belgium's Leuven University Hospital on Saturday. Earlier this week, the European Union gave official approval for the vaccine developed by BioNTech and Pfizer to be used across the 27-nation bloc.

Nations across the continent are set to start vaccinating people on Sunday with many prioritizing care home residents and staff in the first phase. The vaccine is already in use in the United States, Britain, Canada and other countries.

Convoys of trucks have been leaving the Pfizer plant in Belgium over the past few days, transporting doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to other European nations.
