Work Undertakings: Thuta Swesone Literary Award and media tour

The 15th Thuta Swesone Literary Award Presenting Ceremony was held at Park Royal Hotel in Yangon with the attendance of Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister congratulated the literary award winners, highlighting the imperishable benefits of reading in long journey of life to be able to distinguish between right and wrong and to know manners and etiquette.

The Union Minister elaborated to nurture the reading habit of the youth who will shoulder the responsibility of the nation in future. Next, Chairman of Swesone Media Group Dr. Tin Tun Oo made clarifications on purpose of the ceremony, winner selection process and brief history of the award winners.

This was followed by presenting of awards to Thuta Swesone Lifetime Literary Award Winner Dr. Khin Maung Nyo and Thuta Swesone Literary Award Winners.

Next, Swesone Media Group donated 5 million kyat for the earthquake affect staff under the Ministry of Information and 2 million kyat for the U Poe Kyar Memorial Thuta Swesone Library. Moreover, Yangon Region Government donated a total of 6.2 million kyat cash assistance for the ceremony.

During the ceremony, 3.7 million cash award was presented to Thuta Swesone Lifetime Literary Award winner and 2 million kyat to each Thuta Swesone Literary Award winner. Prior to the ceremony, the Union Minister visited Shwe Than Lwin Media Group in Botahtaung Township and oversaw broadcasting process. He also visited Hexagon Complex in Tamwe Township and made a tour to the news studios.
