On May 24, State Administration Council Member Daw Dwe Bu visited the Andaw Shin Hilly Area Buddhist Missionary Monastery in Myitkyina to attend the ceremony to donate offertories.

The ceremony began with the three times recitation of Namotasa, followed by the observance of the Five Precepts, listening to Paritta, and donations of offertories to the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha led by the Vice Chairman Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee.

Water libation ceremony followed, along with the sharing of merits. On a separate occasion, the council member met with leaders from 16 different religious organizations in Kachin State. During the meeting, the council member stressed the importance of national unity, peaceful coexistence, and the role of religious institutions in fostering love, compassion, and social harmony.

She encouraged all to use their teachings to promote peace and stability, and to support the country’s move toward democratic elections. Afterward, the council member met with representatives of ethnic literature and cultural associations.

She highlighted the importance of ethnic inclusiveness in nation-building and the need to protect and promote ethnic languages, cultures, and rights, as stated in the Constitution. She urged full ethnic participation in national elections to ensure better preservation of traditions and rights.

Leaders from various ethnic associations, including six Kachin ethnic groups, five Shan ethnic groups, as well as Bamar, Kayin, Chin, and Rakhine nationals, presented their needs on land areas for cultural centers and registration of their organizations.
