

The Steering Committee and the Working Committee for Religious Titles Conferring Ceremony 2023 of the State Administration Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar held a coordination meeting at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture on Tuesday.
At the meeting, Chairman of the Steering Committee Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko said that the religious titles will be conferred to 382 monks and 38 nuns from local, 21 monks from abroad, 7 laities and 35 religious Sasana Nuggaha title recipients, altogether 483.
It is planned to hold the alms food offering ceremony of the State Administration Council on 3rd March 2023 and the religious tile conferring ceremony at the Sasana Beikman in the compound of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw on 5th March 2023 (the Full-moon day of Tabaung).
For the successful holding of the ceremonies, the office of the State Administration Council formed the Parton Committee and the Steering Committee and the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture formed 12 working committee and sub-committees to assign the tasks systematically.
The ceremony will be held in line with the COVID-19 prevention guidelines of the Ministry of Health. The Union Minister added that the highest religious titles for 2023 will be conferred to 165 monks from local and abroad, nuns and laities at the Sasana Beikman in the compound of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw and other titles will be conferred to 310 local monks and nuns and lay persons in Nay Pyi Taw Council and the respective Regions and States.
The relevant Myanmar embassies will confer titles and insignia to other religious title recipient monks and 8 laities from foreign countries. Later, the Chairman of the Working Committee, the deputy minister of religious affairs and sub-committees discussed matters for the successful holding of the religious title conferring ceremony 2023. In response to the reports, the Union Minister gave necessary instructions.
