Water Supply In Pathein: Project Will Benefit To Over 152,200 Population

The water supply project for the wards in Pathein of Ayeyawady Region has been started since 2017 with the JICA ODA Loan.

At present, the construction of water treatment plant in Mayan creek and related buildings and linking of the water channel (Lock A) have completed 50 percent and linking of PPC pipe line (lock B) has completed 58 percent.

There are 15 wards in Pathein and arrangements are being undertaken to supply water to 13 wards. The water supply design project in Pathein was signed on 30th March 2018 and completed on 31st August 2018 and the project value is 130 million, it is leant. The construction tasks have been started on 23rd May 2019 and the cost is 17.142 billion.

The project will benefit to over 152,000 populations and it will supply 4.5 million gallons of water per day. It is targeted to accomplish in March 2021, according to the Pathein Township Development Committee.
