Vocational Education: Advanced Domestic Sewing Training completed

Completion ceremony of the Advanced Domestic Sewing Training No. (9) and the Mon Traditional Handloom Training No.(25) at the Women's Domestic Trade Training School (Mudon) of the Ministry of Border Affairs, Department of Education and Training was held this morning at the school hall.

At the ceremony, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein said that in line with the goal of “teaching basic, advanced and vocational education for the future of ethnic youth,” 45 border ethnic youth development training schools have been opened for basic education, providing basic education to ethnic youth in the border region who have few educational opportunities.

In Mon State, two Youth Training Schools have been opened in Thaton and Yay, and two Women's Domestic Training Schools in Mudon and Yay, providing education to ethnic minorities in advanced domestic sewing and traditional Mon weaving. The Women's Domestic Vocational Training School in Mudon was opened on May 16, 2005.

He expressed his gratitude to all the responsible persons, departments, ward/village administrators, and trainers who have helped to successfully open the home-based training schools, and urged them to continue to provide support to ensure that future courses are successfully opened.

Then, the Principal of the Women's Domestic Vocational Training School explained information about the school.

Subsequently, the Chief Justice of the Mon State High Court, U Nyi Nyi Soe presented award to an outstanding trainee and the Minister of Security and Border Affairs of the Mon State Government, Colonel Kyaw Swar Myint presented the certificates of completion, and a trainee expressed the gratitude.

After the ceremony, the Chief Minister of the State, members of the State Government, and guests viewed the display of clothing and handicrafts by the trainees.
