






Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U San Oo, accompanied by departmental officials, inspected the conservation and care of turtle species confiscated from illegal trade activities at the Turtle Rescue Centre (BantBwe ), located at the BantBwe Forest Camp in Naungcho Township, Shan State (North), on the morning of August 18.
During the inspection, the responsible official explained the systematic conservation, care and breeding of the turtles according to species, as well as the prospects for releasing them back into their natural habitats. The Union Minister gave necessary instructions and inspected the turtles being conserved and bred according to their respective species.
Next, the Union Minister visited a 270-acre forest plantation established this year in the Maymyo Firewood Forest Reserve for the special greening and environmental improvement of Pyin Oo Lwin. After receiving a briefing from the responsible officials on the establishment of the plantation, the Union Minister instructed them to ensure that every tree planted survives through proper care and maintenance.
He then inspected the condition of the planted trees. In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with personnel of departments under the Ministry based in Pyin Oo Lwin at the Myanmar Forest School and gave necessary guidance and instructions. He subsequently inspected the sites within the compound of the Myanmar Forest School where a classroom building, trainee dormitory and assembly hall are to be constructed, and made necessary arrangements for their implementation. From there, he proceeded to the Myanmar Survey Training School for an inspection.
