Visiting Film Archive in Yangon: MOI UM visited film archive and community center

Union Minister for Information U Htein Lin visited the Film Archive and the Bahan Community Center under the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) in Yangon on Monday afternoon.

At the Film Archive on Mahasi Sasana Yeiktha Road in Bahan Township, the Union Minister heard reports on the digital preservation of Myanmar films and newsreels. He then inspected the film preservation activities. The Union Minister later met with staff at the Bahan Community Center. He stressed that IPRD, with branches across regions and states, plays an important role in providing information and news services to the public.

He urged the systematic delivery of useful information and said community centers should become trusted places for the people. The Union Minister also toured the center’s small museum, library, training hall, multi-purpose hall, and children’s reading room, it’s reported.
