The Czech Republic's health minister on Thursday said measures to combat the spread of coronavirus in the country are no longer working, after a highly transmissible variant first detected in the UK was found to be spreading among the public. The Health Ministry is hoping that infection and hospitalization rates can be lowered by the combination and the vaccination and restrictions. Around 310,000 people in the nation of 10.7 million have been given at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccination. The Health Minister also spoke after the nation became the smallest country to reach one million confirmed cases earlier this week.
