The Union Government meeting (1/2026) was held at the Meeting Hall, Office No. (18), Union Government Office on the afternoon of January 27. The Prime Minister U Nyo Saw attended and delivered an address.

Union Ministers and officials attended the meeting, while Region/State Chief Ministers attended via video conference. First, the minutes of the Union Government meeting No (6/2025) were confirmed. Subsequently, the Prime Minister delivered the opening address, stating that the State has successfully conducted the multi-party democracy general election to proceed along the genuine and disciplined democratic path in accordance with the will of the people.

He mentioned that the new government, which will emerge, must be handed over the state responsibilities, and efforts must continue to enable them to best fulfill their duties. He noted that, as the Head of State, during his visit to Mandalay Region, he observed and encouraged voters who were casting their ballots in Phase (3) of the general election.

During this observation, he witnessed the people exercising their freedom to vote according to their will, in a disciplined and patriotic manner, willingly and enthusiastically. He stated that such actions reflect the people's favorable acceptance of the government.

Therefore, the government must also strive to implement national development tasks to the best of its ability. Continuing, the Prime Minister addressed the remarks made by international observation teams that this election was free and fair, the ongoing peace processes, the need to enhance youth participation in peace and nation-building processes, the good results and progress in the field of international relations, the ongoing efforts to eradicate online scam, gambling, and criminal activities to prevent their recurrence, and the fact that such efforts have been reported by the media.

He also mentioned that press conferences have been held to explain these situations to diplomats and UN agency representatives based in Yangon. He provided extensive guidance and discussion on the development of the country's economic sector, agriculture and livestock sector, education sector, and health sector.

Afterwards, the attending Union Ministers read the proposals, and discussed and presented the ongoing and planned activities according to their respective sectors. Following that, the Prime Minister coordinated necessary actions based on the presentations and discussions by the Union Ministers, delivered concluding remarks, it is learned.
