The Union Government Meeting 5/2023 took place at the Office of the State Administration Council (SAC) Chairman in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

SAC Chairman, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, attended the meeting and delivered a speech in which he highlighted the State Administration Council Government's efforts to ensure the success of their responsibilities.

He emphasized the importance of systematic management of both above and underground resources, natural resources, and human resources, noting the potential for significant benefits.

Despite the challenges posed by the reduction in aid and assistance due to political reasons, he expressed the government's commitment to achieving self-reliance.

The Prime Minister outlined two political goals: the establishment of a genuine disciplined multi-party democracy system and the development of a union based on democracy and a federal system. He reaffirmed the government's dedication to achieving these goals.

In terms of national objectives, the government aims to attain state prosperity and ensure food sufficiency. To achieve these goals, a 5-point Road Map with 9 objectives has been established for the implementation process.

The Prime Minister also said that the pilot census collection would begin on 1st October, with nationwide census collection scheduled for 2024. This process aims to create an accurate voter list in preparation for a multi-party democracy general election.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of striving for increased per acre yields of monsoon paddy, promoting value-added products in agriculture and livestock sectors, expanding double cropping, implementing livestock breeding initiatives systematically, and upgrading factories and workshops.

He also emphasized the need to support private businesses in operating at full capacity. The meeting continued with the reports on the progress of work undertakings by the Union Ministers.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister underscored the welfare of service personnel, with plans to enhance provisions, and incentives for overseas workers. He also emphasized the importance of avoiding wasteful budget expenditures and implementing checks and balances to ensure the success of work undertakings.
