Twin shootings leaves 11 dead, multiple injuries in German town

The twin shootings that occurred in the German town of Hanau on Wednesday night has claimed the lives of nine and caused multiple injuries before police found the dead bodies of the shooter and that of his mother inside his home.

The shooter first attacked a shisha bar in central Hanau around 22:00 local time on Wednesday, before heading to another shisha bar about 2.5 kilometers west and opening fires again. Residents near the first shooting scene told the press that they heard a series of gunshots and then saw victims lying on the street outside the shisha bar. The police said that the Hessian State Criminal Police Office is taking over the investigation.
