Trump's envoy, Iranian FM head to Switzerland for talks

US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi are on route to Switzerland for high-stakes negotiations aimed at solidifying a 14-point interim MOU into a lasting regional truce following a Lebanon ceasefire.

The talks in the Swiss mountaintop resort of Bürgenstock are designed to start a 60-day window of technical negotiations. The objective is to turn the interim pact into a durable regional deal, address the Iranian nuclear program, and secure the Strait of Hormuz.
