US President Donald Trump on Thursday signed two new, narrower executive orders targeting birthright citizenship and "birth tourism". This follows the U.S. Supreme Court's June decision rejecting his broader attempt to end automatic citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants.

. Donald Trump, US President said  "What we're dealing with on birthright citizenship. We had a very unfortunate decision in the Supreme Court concerning birthright-- it was close, but a very, very unfortunate decision. So, we're making adjustments because it's very unfair."

The new directives attempt to bypass that ruling by restricting citizenship for specific groups. Civil rights organizations and several state officials stated that the new orders are unconstitutional and predicted they will be quickly blocked in federal court.
