Trump says US has 'no obligation' to invest in Iran

US President Donald Trump said the United States has “no obligation” to invest in Iran following a deal aimed at ending the Middle East conflict. Speaking at the G7 summit, Trump said Washington has the right to invest in Iran if it chooses but has no plans to do so. He contrasted the agreement with policies under former President Barack Obama, criticizing previous US payments to Iran. Trump said the central outcome of the deal is Iran’s commitment not to obtain or develop a nuclear weapon, warning of severe consequences if that commitment is broken. 

Donald Trump, US President said The one thing that's happening -- that's of note, frankly, the only thing that really matters to me -- is Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, and it says it loud and clear.

Trump added that he hopes the United States and Iran can maintain a positive relationship following the agreement.
