Tree Planting: Event Efforts to promote green and sustainable environ

Aiming to enhance public awareness and appreciation of the value of forests and trees, to promote a green and sustainable environment, to maintain a favorable and balanced climate, providing shade and aesthetic benefits, the 2026 Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony was held on Saturday within airport extension area in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region.

Chief Minister U Zaw Naing Oo joined the event and planted the Gant Gaw sapling.

During the event, a total of 664 saplings comprising 9 different species were planted in designated locations.

The Chief Minister then observed and encouraged the participants engaged in the tree planting activities. It is learnt that the Forest Department is distributing saplings to the government departments, military units, universities, training schools and public free of charge through its nurseries within Dawei District.
