




A monsoon tree planting ceremony was held at the Taung Nyo forest reserve in Ottarathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday. Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Kan Myint Than attended the event and made a speech.
He said the event aims to promote forest conservation, protect the environment, and increase green spaces. He stressed that trees help support climate balance, prevent natural disasters, and improve livelihoods, and added that tree planting activities have to be carried out as a national responsibility.
During the event, the Council Chairman planted a Gant Gaw tree. In total, about 1,500 trees including teak, and various hardwoods were planted. The Council Chairman and officials also inspected the planting activities and encouraged participants.
