Transport Sector: Renovation of roads and bridgein Thayet District

Road Department of Kama Township in Magway Region has been implementing 95 projects with over 3.6 billion Kyats from the Union Budget and Region Budget from 2020-2021 to 2022-2023 financial year.These projects includeThayet-Kama-Natmeetauk Road, Mindone Creek Bridge (Yananthar) and its approach road. The Department completed 43 projects in 2020-2021 fiscal year, 22 in 2021-2022 and 30 are underway in 2022-2023.

Phoo Ngon Thin, Staff Officer, Road Department, Kama Township, said " We paved a new 274.3 meters long and 5.5 meters wide section between the mile no. 18/1 and 18/3 on the Thayet-Kama-Natmeetauk road. Also, along the Road, we expanded the earthen road to be 12 meters wide. We built a ground frame for the Mindone Creek Bridge (Yananthar), 707 meters long approach road and 1,300 feet pitch road on the bridge. This bridge connects Thayet Township to Kama Township in Thayet District."

In the coming 2023-2024 financial year, the Road Department of Kama will construct 65 roads and 6 bridges.
