Train Timetable Reduced: Myanmar Railways Reduces Trains From 10 To 19 April

Under the guidance of National Level Central Committee on prevention, control and treatment of Coronavirus disease 2019, Myanma Railways has reduced Yangon circular and express train timetable between the 10th and 19th of April. This rail timetable reduction during the Stay at Home period is to prevent the spread of virus infection.

Regional Manager (Region-7), Myanma Railways (Transportation Department), Zaw Lwin Said “According to the Stay at Home instruction between the 10th and 19th of April, Myanma Railways has reduced the train timetable. Trains will run 2 times - one in the morning and one in the evening for Yangon-Hlawga, Yangon-Mingaladon and Yangon-Ywartargyi route. Circular trains will run 3 times - one in the morning, one in the afternoon and one in the evening.”

Also, Myanma Railways reduced express train timetable during the Stay at Home period from the 10th and 19th of April. They are cooperating on the COVID-19 preventive measures, the regional manager said.

Regional Manager (Region-7), Myanma Railways (Transportation Department), Zaw Lwin said “We are cooperating on the COVID-19 preventive measures. Body temperature test is conducted; hand washing sinks were set up; and hand gel is placed for commuters and staff at the stations.”

This rail timetable reduction during the Stay at Home period is to prevent the spread of virus infection, Myanma Railways said.
