Traditional Ceremony: SAC Member attends opening ceremony in Kachin State

The Central Committee on Lachid Literature and Culture on Friday held the opening of the Arch, Traditional House and Manaw Ground along with the Manaw Dance in Waingmaw Township area of Kachin State.

Member of the State Administration Council Daw Dwae Bu, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Jeng Phang Naw Taung and many other officials attended the ceremony.

This ceremony began with prayer, blessing, explanation about the Manaw Ground and dance and speeches by the Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Jeng Phang Naw Taung and Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan. 20.5 million Kyats were also presented to the Chairman of the Centeral Committee on Lachid Literature and Culture.

The officials ceremonially opened the Mannaw Ground and enjoyed the traditional dance. They also visited the booth where the history, lifestyle, literature, costumes and utensils of the Lachid people. It’s reported that closing of the Manaw dance will be held on the 4th of March.
