Traditional Bullfight Festival:16-day event commenced in Shan State (East)

Annual bullfight festival which is one of Eastern Shan State’s traditional festivals is being celebrated at township sport ground in Mong Yang Township starting from 31st January.

The residents from the villages of Mong Yang Township participated in the bullfight festival. The buffaloes owners who want to participate in bullfight festival bring their buffaloes to the sport ground and let them fight using their horns. The buffalo which runs away during the fight will lose and the winner will be awarded. The festival will be last 16 days from 31st January to 15th February. It’s learnt.
